Dann Adair is an independent consultant with specific expertise in research facilities built for containing plants and plant related organisms.  He has been involved in the design, construction, and management of such facilities for over 30 years.  Clients who require a clear understanding of rules and regulations in greenhouses, growth chambers, laboratories, and related facilities will benefit from his experience.  Consulting services involve assessing current facilities as well as making recommendations for meeting a wide range of requirements.  While the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules and USDA-APHIS containment facility regulations are the predominant guidance used in US facilities, he welcomes the opportunity to interpret facility guidelines for clients in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other select locations.

Mr. Adair is on the faculty of the Biosafety and Biosecurity Training Course that is offered annually in Fort Collins, CO.  He has co-authored a widely used publication, A Practical Guide to Containment: Plant Biosafety in Research Greenhouses and speaks at conferences on this topic.  He is concurrently employed as an Account Manager and Greenhouse Applications Specialist by Controlled Environments Inc., but this firm does not provide consulting services as described above.  Clients can be assured of transparency and accountibility as these consulting services have no need to recommend commercial products offered by Controlled Environments Inc.  Mr. Adair relishes the opportunity to share his practical knowledge of what meets, exceeds, or fails containment standards for plant research facilities.
